Nigerians are Making Sure Cynthia Morgan Gets Back On Her Feet & Into the Music Scene

Audio: Cynthia Morgan Premieres ''Porshe Panamera'' - P.M. News

It’s no news that one of Nigeria’s finest reggae/dancehall female singer, Cynthia Morgan now Madrina, has been off the music radar for a long while now.
Although she’s been on and off the scene quite a couple of times, the last time the singer went MIA, she came back with a bang in 2018, changing her stage name from Cynthia Morgan to ‘Madrina’ as part of her efforts to rebrand.
Sometime in March, the singer had a chat withSydney Shocker on Launch Time Friday. She disclosed that she was down with a terrible illness and had a lot of family issues to deal with. In a new interview, the singer had an Instagram Live chat with her No. 1 advocate of her comeback and former Miss Globe Nig, Sandra Ogbebor (MsVania7).
She opened up on her travail after an issue she had with the CEO of her former record label ‘Northside Records’, Jude Okoye, her VEVO account, royalties, Instagram account and other things due to the contract she signed and the record label issue she had with the music executive.
According to her, she became depressed thereafter and had to relocate to Benin to save cost for treatment of an illness that almost took her life. She was sick for over 6 months. It was never a drug problem, she never did drugs.
On why she didn’t open up at that time, she said she wasn’t ready to talk as she believed it was a phase of life she would surmount. She also admitted that some of the colleagues in the music industry reached out to her, but she didn’t say anything because it was all centred on work which she wasn’t ready to get back to then.
According to Sandra, a GoFundMe account to fund her comeback has been created, and Nigerians have started supporting the music star.
Here’s how Nigerians  and celebrities are reacting to the news:

If I were Cynthia Morgan, I wouldn’t use the new found fame to release a new song. I’d use it to write a book, speak at events, sell CDs, start a podcast etc. There is no guarantee the song will blow & people will move on if it does not. She has a better shot at success this way.

Their 12-year marriage was officially dissolved this week after a court  granted a decree, according to Mail Online. The former couple split in January 2018 before their   union legally came to an end during a 30-second hearing in October 2018. During the hearing, Ant had to technically admit adultery with his former PA and girlfriend, Anne-Marie as their romance began while he and Lisa were still married. A source told The Sun: 'It's been an extremely difficult road with a lot of heartache and unpleasantness, but it's finally done. It's over. 'Ant's been desperate to start the next chapter of his life and at least now he and Anne-Marie can plan for the future. It won't be long before they are married.'  It was recently reported that An...

The Bundesliga could return by "the middle or end of May", Germany's sports ministers have said, as the league awaits the go-ahead from Angela Merkel's government to resume the season.

The ministers of sports in Germany's 16 states met Monday and announced in a statement that it is "justifiable" for the league to resume "in empty stadiums" from "the middle or end of May". "The German Football League must create and enforce the strictest hygienic and medical conditions, and monitor them with appropriate measures," added the statement. German Chancellor Merkel will meet state leaders in Berlin on Thursday, when it is hoped the Bundesliga will get the green light to resume. All football in Germany ground to a halt in mid March due to the coronavirus pandemic. Last week, the German Football League (DFL) announced it is ready to resume from May 9, albeit behind closed doors with tight hygiene measures and players tested regularly. A return in May would make the Bundesliga the first top league in Europe to resume as Germany cautiously eases lockdown measures. Key politicians, including health minister Jens Spahn, ha...

COVID-19: Nigeria To Get US Ventilators In Two Weeks

Nigeria is set to take delivery of the ventilators promised by American President,  Donald Trump  by the middle of June. However, the delivery time could still be affected by production and shipping times,  Naija News  understands. It would be recalled that the American President had on April 28 during a phone  conversation  with his Nigerian counterpart,  Muhammadu Buhari  promised to send 250 ventilators to Nigeria to support the fight against COVID-19. However, Nigeria’s Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed  while speaking  at the presidential task force briefing on the 28th of May, said the ventilators are yet to arrive in Nigeria. According to him, there is no specific date for the arrival of the medical items, and that the information will be made public once the ventilators are received. But the US Embassy in Nigeria on Monday confirmed that the ventilators are expected to arrive by the middle of June. The mission gave the date i...
